Dear Farmer Andrew and Chef Brian!

Just a quick note to say “Thank You” for organising the sun to shine ALL day on the Thursday when classes 7 and 8 visited Claremont Farm. The children had a great time and learned a lot about how the vegetables are actually grown.

Thanks again for a great and informative day, “pitched” at exactly the right level for our pupils.

Kindest regards

Mrs Frances O’Brier,
Christ Church Primary School, Wirral.

Here at Claremont Farm we welcome schools and encourage visits to forge closer links between farming and education.

Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) was established in 2003 to help farmers and growers ensure that schools are guaranteed safe and worthwhile visits to all kinds of farms. Claremont farm have Accredited personnel and are proud to be part of CEVAS.

Farm behind the Food

Teachers have created this resource to explore with children what food labels mean, and how they link to farming and making choices about food.

The web-based Farm Behind the Food www.farmbehindthefood.org.uk provides an information base for teachers and case studies to show how farmers work to each of the standards described as well as the classroom activities.
