Chocolate Workshops with The Chocolate CellarChocolate Workshops with The Chocolate Cellar

17/07/2010

The Chocolate Cellar offers a range of workshops. The workshops are taught by one of our experienced chocolatiers. Our passion for chocolate is totally infectious and all who have attended have come away inspired and enthralled by the art of chocolate making. Sessions are run at The Chocolate Cellar in Liverpool City Centre and at Claremont Kitchen on the Wirral.

Our workshops are popular for corporate events, birthday parties, hen /stag parties and special individual treats.

Children’s Workshop  £10 per head
An hour-long workshop for children aged 6-16.  It begins with a short talk about how chocolate is made, after which everybody has a chance to make and decorate two lollipops to take home.  While these are setting, there is a chocolate quiz to do, then we pack the lollies to take them home.  Price includes a soft drink.  Workshops run at 4pm on the last Friday of every month during term time.  In the school holidays, we have more workshops on various days – check website for details.
Private parties may be arranged if minimum of 6 children book.

Dabble Workshop £30 per head
This two hour workshop begins with a talk about how chocolate makes it from the bean to the bar, followed by a practical session where we demonstrate various techniques  before giving you the chance to create your own masterpieces.  Following a chocolate quiz, everybody gets the chance to hand-wrap their creations to take home.  The price includes a hot chocolate drink.

Creative £50 per head

The three hour workshop begins with information on the history of chocolate and then the pleasurable task of a guided chocolate tasting. You will then create truffle fillings, dip your truffles in Belgian chocolate and design and decorate your toppings. All attendees then take home their creations of fine genuine Belgian chocolates all wrapped, designed and made by you.  The price includes a hot chocolate drink.

Chocoholic Workshop  £110 per head
This full-day workshop begins in the same way the Creative Workshop, with a talk on chocolate and a chocolate tasting session.  Then, after a demonstration of chocolate-making techniques, everybody will have a chance to try these techniques for themselves, including tempering, piping, using moulds and making cigarillos. Participants will also choose their favourite flavours to incorporate into the 20-30 hand-made truffles which they will hand-wrap in the packaging of their choice to take home to their loved ones. Price includes a lunch and a hot chocolate drink.

Wine and Asparagus evening.Wine and Asparagus evening.

10/06/2010

Wines with asparagus ‘workshop’: Asparagus is something of a national, indeed regional institution; the season is all too short and ends on June 21st this year. It is also ‘allegedly’ not wine friendly. We believe that there is a wine out there for just about any dish so we have teamed up with Jon from Scatchards wine merchants and will be putting on an informal tasting of 3 asparagus dishes, each accompanied by a pair of ‘suitable’ wines.

Date- Thursday June 10th 7pm-9pm cost £10/head
